Tell me what, I don't like Thursdays...

Matt Green has just supplied some more information concerning the use of small engines over the next few days of daily running on the K&ESR.

Unfortunately there is more bad news for 32678 on a Thursday for this week (6th) the engine had to be taken out of service with injector trouble.

The plan is that the P-class 753 will now work the Vintage train on Sunday and Monday with “Bodiam” taking over from Tuesday 11th thru Sunday 16th and then all being well, because 3 is then on washout, 32678 will cover the turn on the 17th.  From Tuesday 18th Class 5 locomotives hold centre-stage on both trains.

It remains to be clarified why first the clack and now the injector have been a source of frustration and disappointment but it underlines the importance of regular use to keep everything in good working order.  The bottom line is, like all machinery, Terriers are not suited to being idle.  Mr Stroudley was absolutely right: his engines were not designed to be looked at; they were designed to be used!
