Noel for Knowle?

Would you like to spend a winter’s day filming, photographing or travelling on the K&ESR behind 32678 Knowle?

02 January 1954 was the last day of regular passenger trains on the railway. 32678 Knowle, along with 32655 Stepney featured on trains that day, and with the lieu day for New Year’s Day on Bank Holiday Monday, it is hoped to mark the occasion with a very special train

Various avenues are being pursued to finance steaming, including the possibility of some after-dark photography at Tenterden Town, but basically we need people to participate by registering an interest without delay. It is some years since No.10 Sutton/32650 worked a one-coach and it is this we wish to re-create

For £22 you are a Day Sponsor and get a guaranteed seat in the NBO brake to ride all day. The proposal is to have a Tenterden departure for Bodiam in the morning, a break for lunch that may include a Tenterden-Rolvenden-Tenterden shuttle or ecs working and then an afternoon ride to Northiam and back before dusk. Pre-booked applications are limited to 36, the capacity of the coach. In the event of any outward seat not being taken, seats may be sold on the day and therefore a seat cannot be guaranteed on the return

Charity No. 1050480

Fundamentally this is a fund-raising charter for the railway and it is hoped that any “surplus” will be allocated to the Birdcage coach restoration fund

The K&ESR is running a normal green timetable in addition that day

To register your interest as a Day Sponsor please email without delay to Hugh Nightingale, The Terrier Trust at terrier78@freeuk.com

We are looking for 20 participants by no later than 2000hrs on 30 November 2005
