WELCOME TO THE OFFICIAL WEBSITE OF THE TERRIER TRUST

Lift Off for Articles Section!

The Terrier Trust website has had permission from the editor of the K&ESR house magazine, The Tenterden Terrier to reproduce some of the articles featuring Terrier locomotives.

About six weeks’ ago, I started work on a database to list and describe all references and pictures to Terriers that have appeared in the magazine. It soon became obvious that certain articles, reports and indeed letters, were too detailed and interesting to abbreviate into a practical manner.

In addition, some issues of The Tenterden Terrier are now very much collectors items so it seemed a shame not to make the information more widely available. The magazine has been printed in its current familiar format since No.4 way back in 1974, albeit with increased use of colour in recent years. Fortunately I had acquired a copy of No.3 featuring the recommencement of services in the spring of that year, and Mr Shaw has most generously supplied The Terrier Trust with photocopies of the first two issues, published in 1973.

Appropriately, issue No.1 is dominated by centenary events for No.3 Bodiam and it is from there the articles will commence…
