Former Secretary steps down as Guard

One of the instigators’ of The Terrier Trust, and its inaugural Secretary, Gerry steps down as guard
Dr Gerald Siviour, has wet his whistle and waved his flag for the last time as a guard on Bluebell due to Anno Domini and distance to travel from his home in Norfolk

Appropriately the locomotive rostered with the A-set; the 11.00am, 1.00pm and 3.00pm round trips via Kingscote plus the 4.47pm Sheffield Park to Horsted Keynes and back was none other than West Country 21C123 “Blackmoor Vale”, which put up a stirring and scintillating performance on the Up journey for Gerry’s last full round trip.

It is understood that Gerry has not quite finished with railways in a voluntary capacity.  He severed his direct connections with Tenterden when he moved from St Michaels;

Charity No. 1050480

He is best remembered on K&ESR for his many years’ serviceSecretary steps down as Guard as Education Officer. Gerry plans to continue as a Signaller on the North Norfolk Railway and is scheduled to give another of his famous talks to the Ashford Group of the K&ESR in 2008

Pictures show Gerry with his son David on Platform 4 at Horsted Keynes during the stopover for the 11.55am ex-Kingscote to pass the noon train from Sheffield Park, and Gerry giving a hearty blast on his whistle to see away his last formal full round trip off Sheffield Park at 3.00pm
